Continous Line Drawing Session
During our #farmvember2023 challenge on instagram we shared some goat photo references, and we discovered that we weren’t the only ones who found them challenging to sketch. We had a chat about how we could alleviate the pressure of perfection in this challenge and decided that we would create blind contour sketches and continuous/one-line drawings of the goats.
Continuous line drawing creates expressive and distinctive outcomes due to its spontaneous nature and by eliminating the chance to correct mistakes or modify lines, this method can produce a more authentic result that captures the subject’s personality and gives the sketch a fabulous energy. Plus it’s really fun to do!
You can watch and sketch along with us as the reference images will be shown in the video – hopefully we will get better at these sessions and have more direction for anyone following along with the recording, but we have to start somewhere, and we had a lot of fun drawing together!
